I was introduced to Sharon and Dwight Smart — the founders of the Mayan Families NGO in Panajachel on my first trip returning to Guatemala. I was introduced to them thru a mutual friend. I was so impressed with the amazing work they do in all areas of problems there. I am in awe of what they manage to do under very challenging situations.
Each time I am there I have taken my guests to visit and many say it is their “favorite time on the trip”. The children are delightful and gave a charming presentation when we arrive. We have an opportunity to learn about the programs there and visit the school.

Beyond Vallarta Tours supports a student in school and with help where needed. A number of children have been “adopted” by generous guests. We have all loved our participation.
